This tutorial explains the following:
|
|
- Setting width and height of the document.
- Setting and swithching background and foreground colors in conjunction with Keyboard shortcut
- Setting white, color and transparent background to documents

Opent Photoshop and go to File>New.
- In "New" dialogue box click on small arrow of Background Contents dropdown menu.
There are three options namely White, Bacground Color and Transparent.
Set Width and Height to any size (or follow the settings shown in example). Resolution 72 pixels/inch (web standards). Color Mode set to RGB 8 bit. Leave other options as it is. Click OK button. Untitled New canvas window opens with default white background.
- Now go to Tool box and set foreground color to any color except white. To do this click inside top color box (Foreground color) and choose any color from" Color Picker" except white ( in example image below the foreground color set to blue (#0078ff) .

- Now click on "Switch foreground and background color" curved
arrow once (see example above). This action enables interchange of Foreground and Background colors. The Keyboard shortcut for "Swithching foreground and background colors" is Key "X". Press Key X on Keyboard to check this shortcut option. After swithching, the foreground and background boxes should look as shown in the example below:
